This time, we're off. Or more to the point, we're not. There was a humongous queue to leave KTM and it took almost 4 hours to travel 2 miles.
Once we were on the road proper it was the standard hairy bus ride with surprises round every corner.
At 5pm we arrived at Besisahar. Registered with the tourist office and checked into the Mountain View Hotel. It was on the edge of a valley and had the most wonderful view (Picture 1 and (Picture 2). I knew from here I was going to run out of superlatives fast...
There is a curfew in Besisahar between 7pm and 4am so we didn't get the chance to see much (sorry Rick!). Alvie (one of the porters) came and got us at 6:45pm and drageed us back to the hotel. Apparently this curfew is serious! The hotel closed down all shutters and lights. How exciting!
